OnCurating Issue #54: documenta fifteen — Aspects of Commoning in Curatorial and Artistic Practices

The article Commoning: Environmental Reconciliation in the Work of Common Views appearing this November in the 54th issue of OnCurating, discusses the work of Common Views and how our approach of Environmental Reconciliation has evolved over the course of our projects.

This issue of OnCurating is the result of more than two years of intensive engagement with aspects of commoning in curatorial and artistic practice, stemming from encounters relating to documenta fifteen. The documenta, which took place in 2022, focused on the core values of lumbung, an artistic and economic model rooted in principles such as collectivity, communal resource sharing, and equal allocation – a radical approach for one of the world’s foremost art events.

In addition to Common Views‘ artists David Behar Perahia and Dan Farberoff, the issue focuses on other documenta fifteen contributors, such as the Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik, Más Arte Más Acción, the winners of the documenta‘s top Arnold Bode Prize the Wajukuu Art Project, political philosopher and sociologist Oliver Marchart and others.
